Visitor parking is located in Lots I, K and L on BVU’s campus map.
Lot I is located north of Dixon-Eilers Hall, which houses the Offices of Admissions, Financial Assistance, Centers Program, Business Services and Human Resources, among others.
Lot K is located at the northeast corner of College Avenue and Third Street. This parking lot serves the Harold Walter Siebens Forum, Dixon-Eilers Hall, President’s Office, Office of Institutional Advancement and the National Alumni Association.
Lot L is located at the southeast corner of College Avenue and Third Street. This parking lot serves the Harold Walter Siebens Forum, Dixon-Eilers Hall, President’s Office, Office of Institutional Advancement and the National Alumni Association.
Visitors may also park in lots designated General Parking as space permits.

There were 1,292 undergraduate and 100 graduate students enrolled on BVU’s Storm Lake campus, with another 1,518 enrolled in the University’s 14
Centers Program campuses across Iowa.
Where is the bookstore?
The Lehnus Campus Bookstore is located in the Harold Walter Siebens Forum near the Information Desk. The bookstore’s hours during the academic year are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, with extended hours for special events. You may also visit the on-line bookstore at www.efollet.com.
Can I get a demonstration of the laptop computers?
If you are interested in a laptop demonstration while visiting as a potential student, please inform the Office of Admissions when you set up your campus visit. Other individuals and groups are welcomed to make e-mail inquiries to ebvyou@bvu.edu.
How much does it cost for admission to athletic events?
Currently, Buena Vista University only charges admission to football and basketball games and special events.
The charge for regularly scheduled games is $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens. Tickets are sold the day of the event only.
Special occasion tickets for tournaments and post-season play may be pre-sold and vary in price.

How much does it cost to go to BVU?
Full-time tuition for 2002-2003 on the Storm Lake campus is $18,738 and room and board are $5,230.
Tuition for classes at BVU’s Centers Program campuses is $204 per credit hour.
How safe is your campus?
Buena Vista University and the Office of Campus Security Office are committed to providing a safe environment for the students, staff, faculty and visitors of the University. Campus Security personnel are available 24 hours per day, seven days per week, with a staff of seven professionals.
Campus Security offers 24-hour campus escort service, medical transportation and vehicle assistance and campus programs on crime prevention, sexual assault awareness, personal safety, fire prevention and alcohol and drug abuse prevention.
Crime statistics are reported in compliance with Title 11 of Public Law 101-542, the Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act.
Can someone help me with my vehicle?
Campus Security offers assistance in starting vehicles, opening locked vehicles and changing flat tires.

How long does it take to visit the Storm Lake campus?
A tour of BVU’s Storm Lake campus buildings takes a little over one hour, with additional time needed if your tour runs through the lunch hour. Potential students touring campus should plan for additional time to meet professors, coaches and admissions counselors and sitting in on a real college class. The average visit for a potential student is 3-4 hours.
Can I stay on campus when I visit BVU?
The Office of Admissions provides overnight housing with a BVU student for prospective students whenever possible. Parents and other guests should plan to find an alternative form of overnight housing. There are several motels in Storm Lake that offer comfortable and affordable lodging.

If you are interested in a tour of BVU’s residence halls while visiting as a potential student, please inform the Office of Admissions when you set up your campus visit.
How do I get to the Harold Walter Siebens Forum?
The Harold Walter Siebens Forum is an underground building located between College and Grand Avenues. There are two entrances on the west side the main entrance below the Victory Arch and another entrance north of that location that brings visitors into the Information Technology Center, which is part of the Forum complex. There is one entrance, which is across the street from the Ballou Library building and Visitor Parking, on the east side of the Forum.
The Information Desk is located in the center of the Forum building and is adjacent to the Lehnus Campus Bookstore and Forum Office.
The Harold Walter Siebens Forum, Dixon-Eilers Hall, Ballou Library building, BVU Library and Information Technology are all connected via elevators and underground hallways. Visitors may find it helpful to print a map of campus for reference.
Where is the best handicap entrance to the Harold Walter Siebens Forum?
The most convenient handicap entrance is located at the main entrance below the Victory Arch. An electronic door and ramp are located there for the convenience of BVU community members and visitors.

Do you have meeting rooms?
The Harold Walter Siebens Forum has meeting rooms to accommodate groups of 5 to 800 people. Our meeting rooms are designed for all group dynamics. The flexible setup of our rooms helps enhance all meeting types, from small board meetings to large lectures.
BVU’s conferencing program is a one-stop operation that makes event planning simple. Our staff will coordinate all catering, setup and technology needs so that meeting areas are ready for our guests when they arrive.

Where is Anderson Auditorium and how do I get to it?
Anderson Auditorium is located in the Harold Walter Siebens Forum and is handicap accessible. The Forum’s east entrance brings guests closest to Anderson Auditorium, but all entrances allow access to the area. The entrance to Anderson Auditorium is located near the Information Desk.
What is there to do in Storm Lake?
The lake from which the community gets its name is the focus for much that goes on in the area. As the site for homes and recreation, Storm Lake draws visitors to its shore-lined parks. Camping, boating, fishing and winter sports center on the lake.
Swimming, golf, tennis, bowling, miniature golf and variety of other sports activities are abundant in Storm Lake. The local schools and colleges are centers for spectator sports and individual fitness activities.
Cultural activities include community theater, high school and university performances, library, historical museum, art gallery and exceptional touring productions at BVU sponsored by both the University and the area arts council.
Seasonal attractions and events include the Living Heritage Tree Museum, the Harker House, July Fourth "Star Spangled Spectacular," the Great Iowa Balloon Race on Labor Day weekend and Santa’s Castle.
