Are You Ready for Online?

Before you begin an online course, make sure to complete the Online Learning Readiness Assessment on the BVU Connected Learning site (this will open in a new browser window). This assessment will help you determine whether online learning is for you. The assessment takes just a few minutes to complete and provides you with immediate feedback.

Technology

• Make sure you have reasonable internet access and that you can meet the minimum technical requirements for online courses. As part of your program you will receive important software to help you be successful, including Microsoft Office.
• Perform a browser check to make sure your browser will work properly. The browser checker was designed for BVU residential students, but is also applicable to our online students.
• Take a look at our Getting Started Guide for Online Students.
• After you have enrolled, log in to Angel and go through the short Angel Orientation Course to learn the tools you'll need for your classes.
• Go to our GroupWise WebAccess guide to learn about your BVU email account.

Getting Books

All books for online courses can be ordered online through Buena Vista University's Lehnus Campus Bookstore operated by Follett, Inc. For complete instructions on ordering books online through the BVU Lehnus Campus Bookstore, go to the Ordering Books Online help guide (this will open in a new browser window).

You can also order your required textbooks through Campus Connect. Just pull up the list of courses you are registered for in a term and select the "Order Books" link. You can order used books (if in stock) or new books.
