Projecting from Laptops without Docking Stations

Below is an overview of the use of each available plug.

  • VGA: Used to project your computer screen. It is the only plug required to project.
  • USB: Used to connect the available mouse if you prefer.
  • Sound: Used if your presentation has sound incorporated.
  • Network: Used if you need an Internet connection and are not wireless.
  • Power: Only use the supplied power supply for the Gateway 450s and 405s! If you have a different model laptop, use your own power supply if you do not want to run off the battery.

VGA
To use the projector, simply plug the VGA into the appropriate slot on the back of your computer.

USB
If you would like to use the mouse, plug it into an available USB port.

Sound
If your presentation needs sound, plug the audio connection into the headphone jack or audio output of your laptop.

Network
If you need an Internet connection, you can plug in the Ethernet network cable. If you have a laptop from BVU, you will not need to plug the network cable in because you have access to our wireless network.

Power
If you have a Gateway 450 or 405 laptop, you can use the available power supply for your laptop. If you are using a different model, you risk damaging your laptop. You can always use your own power supply, though.
