Renetta Seiler begins her first year as head men's and women's track and field coach at Buena Vista after serving as an assistant coach at the University of Northern Iowa from 2005-08.

While at UNI, Seiler oversaw both the men’s and women’s throwers. She coached Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) indoor and outdoor champions, top-10 national place winners, NCAA Indoor and Outdoor All-Americans, a Drake Relays Champion, and a MVC Most Valuable Female Athlete.

Seiler is a 2000 graduate of Kansas State University where she turned in a stellar collegiate career for the Wildcats. She was a three-time All-American in both the hammer throw and the 20# weight throw, a four-time All-American discus thrower, as well as an All-American in the shot put. She holds school records in both the hammer throw (209’4”) and the weight throw (69’2.5”). In addition, she was a seven-time Big XII Conference Champion and was a 1997 World Games finalist in the hammer throw.

Upon graduating from KSU, Seiler began her coaching career by serving as a graduate assistant for the Wildcats (2000-01) before serving as an assistant coach in 2001-02. From there, she moved on as an assistant coach at the University of Miami (2002-05) where she was part of eight conference championship teams as a coach. During her tenure, school records were broken 29 times in three years, and she also coached both indoor and outdoor conference and national champions.

Seiler is an Algona, Iowa, native and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from KSU in education.
