This is Derrick’s first year playing tennis at Buena Vista. He played football and basketball, as well as served as a student assistant coach for the basketball team.
He is the son of Gayle and Nancy Young and has two siblings. His hobbies include: skiing, listening to music, and riding his motorcycle. His favorite athletes are Michael Jordan, Joe Montana, and Pete Sampras. The person he’d most like to meet is his grandpa again.
His favorite thing about Buena Vista is the nice campus and great social scene. Something interesting about Derrick is that he has traveled to 13 countries including touring Europe for two weeks performing with a band.
