Scott Phipps enters his second season as head coach for the Beavers after spending 2006 as the assistant women's soccer coach at Hastings College (Neb.).
At Hastings, he had a hand in helping the team to a berth in the NAIA Region III Tournament. Prior to his year at Hastings, Phipps served as the assistant men’s and women's soccer coach at Iowa Central Community College in 2005. That season, the women’s team had a record setting year; placing seventh in the NJCAA National Tournament, and finishing with a 17-2-3 record. Phipps holds his National Coaching Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, and also has an Advanced National Diploma from the NSCAA.
Coach Phipps played his college soccer at the University of Alabama- Huntsville (Div. II) and Park University (NAIA) in Kansas City, Mo., where he graduated with a BA in Communication Theory and Human Relations. Phipps soon became the head coach at Paseo Academy in Kansas City, Mo. Years later he took the position of girl's assistant varsity soccer coach at North Kansas City High School, where he spent two years before arriving at ICCC.
Phipps holds a Masters Degree of Teaching in Physical Education from Hastings College.
