Facility Policies
Welcome to the Siebens and Lamberti Centers. As a user, we hope that you take advantage of these outstanding facilities to improve physical fitness, stay well, and enjoy your leisure time. We ask that you please know and observe our rules and help us maintain the cleanliness of these facilities.
Facility user policies- All users must show their BVU I.D.
- BVU students, full-time faculty/staff, and their guests may use the facilities during recreation hours.
- Spouses/domestic partners of students and full-time faculty/staff are allowed to use the facilities. Proper I.D. is required and may be purchased from the Human Resources Office.
- BVU personnel’s children who are aged 16 and over must have a proper picture I.D. to use the facilities, unless they are accompanied by their parent. BVU personnel’s children who are under the age of 16 must be accompanied by their parent at all times.
- Retired faculty/staff may use the facilities by obtaining a Special User I.D.
- Anyone with a proper BVU I.D. may bring one guest, who must sign in at the control desk with his or her BVU host. The guest is the responsibility of the BVU I.D. holder and must leave when the host leaves the facility. Guests may use all the facilities available, but must remain with their host at all times.
- Walk-Jog Membership passes may be purchased from the Athletic Department Office. These passes are only valid during designated hours, Monday-Friday.
- Those with Walk-Jog Membership passes must follow these specific policies:
- The user must show the pass at the control desk and sign in.
- The pass has no guest privileges.
- The pass may be revoked at any time by BVU administration.
- Retired BVU faculty/staff may obtain a Special User I.D. at no charge from the Human Resources Office.
- Everyone must present a valid BVU I.D. or Membership Pass to use the facilities.
- Eating and drinking are not permitted in the Fritcher Fitness Center or the Lamberti Recreation Center.
- No tobacco is allowed in any Siebens & Lamberti Centers area.
- No spitting on the floors or walls is permitted.
- Any style of athletic shoes (except cleats or spikes) is acceptable for use in the Lamberti Recreation Center. Street shoes are not allowed in any activity area.
- Lane policies for various speeds are as follows:
- Inside Lanes – Running
- Middle Lanes – Jogging
- Outside Lanes – Walking
- Hanging on the basketball rims is not permitted.
- Coats or additional clothing may not be left on the floors.
- The Exercise Science and Athletics programs will be given priority preference for academic and training purposes, so the use of any facility may be restricted at certain times.
- Everyone must have a valid BVU I.D. to check out or use equipment.
- The Control Desk supervisor will provide users with nets and net posts and will assist with setting up courts.
- Activity courts cannot be reserved for recreational play; however, special group requests should be made through the Athletic Office.
- The Control Desk supervisor has the authority to make decisions regarding the use of space and equipment, as well as to suspend play and to dismiss individuals who display inappropriate behavior.
- Everyone must present a valid BVU I.D. and sign in to use the Fritcher Fitness Center.
- Food, drinks, and tobacco are not permitted in the facility.
- Appropriate attire for use of the facility includes loose-fitting comfortable clothing (i.e. shirt with sleeves, shorts, sweats) and athletic shoes. Street shoes are not permitted.
- Personal items such as coats, bags, computers, etc., should be left in the cubicles inside the door and not brought into the workout areas.
- Users are required to wipe down machines after they use them. Towels may be obtained from the control desk with a BVU I.D.
- During high usage times, sign-in procedures may be required for use of the cardiovascular equipment, and time restrictions of 30 minutes will be enforced. Check with the supervisor on duty to assist with procedure.
- Please replace pins, weight plates, saddle plates, and dumbbells to their original location.
- Ask the supervisor to change TV stations or change volume on the stereo. (Do not change these on your own.)
- Racquetball courts are available only to BVU students, faculty/staff, and their guests.
- All reservations are to be made by signing up on the sheet outside the courts.
- Reservations may be made for the week.
- If players do not take the court within 10 minutes after the reservation time, the court becomes available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- No shoes that mark the floors are permitted on the court.
- Reservations are for one hour only, and back-to-back reservations are not permitted.
- All BVU faculty and staff are allowed use of lockers at no charge.
- Lockers may be obtained by contacting the BVU Athletic Office or BVU Swimming Office.
- A lock will also be issued at no charge. Only BVU-issued locks are allowed on lockers. Outside locks will be removed.
- BVU is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. Please keep items in lockers and locked.
- All swimming pool users must present a BVU I.D., be the guest of someone with a BVU I.D., or pay for usage to the lifeguard on duty. All users must sign in at the pool office.
- Children under 12 years must be accompanied by a parent or a supervising adult and must remain with the supervisor at all times.
- The pool can only be used during published pool hours when a lifeguard is on duty.
- Access to the pool is through designated locker rooms only.
- No food or drinks are allowed in the pool area.
- All pool rules and regulations must be followed. The Aquatics Director and lifeguards have the authority to revoke pool privileges for individuals who display inappropriate behavior.
