BVU Alumni Internships

It's a Grand Slam!

Not many BVU alumni say they got to pull the drapes closed in the Oval Office. In fact, Jaime (Ford) Naig SL'00 is probably the only alum who can claim that distinction.

Jaime got that honor when she was working as an intern in the Office of Communications at the White House the spring semester of her senior year, an experience she got through the Washington Center program. "The office produced President Clinton's appearances at various media events, so I helped design backdrops, arrange props and scout locations," she says. "I also did some graphic design for the White House web site (www.whitehouse.gov) and monitored its general e-mail inbox."

"One day, my supervisor and I were preparing for a Presidential address in the Oval Office and we were having trouble with the lighting. So he had me work with the drapes to darken the room. I love being able to tell people that I've pulled the drapes in the Oval Office."
