There is a lot of grey area when it comes to understanding copyright, especially in regards to digital information and the Internet. This online copyright resource was designed to give you access to materials that help you make informed decisions about using copyrighted materials in an academic environment. Review the official BVU Copyright Policy and other information available to you. If you have a question about using copyrighted material as an instructor or student (i.e. "Can I digitize a clip from a movie and make it available to my students on Blackboard?"), look through the FAQ section or email copyright@bvu.edu.
Faculty and students are bound to protect copyright and private ownership. Higher Education institutions are both users of and creators of copyrighted material. As an institution, we should honor and have respect for copyright laws, and an obligation to do so.
