Buena Vista University Community Music Program
The Buena Vista University Community Music Program is designed for students of elementary
age through adults that wish to pursue musical study through applied lessons in woodwinds, brass, percussion,
voice, and piano in a university setting. Students receive comprehensive musical training from a faculty composed
of Buena Vista University music faculty members and undergraduate assistants.
Opportunities are available in private study in piano, voice, woodwind, brass and percussion
instruments. Students are given progress reports and participate in a recital at the end of every semester.
Because the music program is affiliated with the university, students also have access to all
the unique resources provided by the Buena Vista Music department, including opportunities to attend
faculty/student/guest recitals and participate in festivals and competitions, as well as performing in recitals
in BVU's own recital and concert halls.
